# Fjerne > Fjerne is a local pickup and removal marketplace, currently a hand-run pilot in the High Desert (Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley and nearby), California. People post a photo of furniture, appliances or junk they want gone, with a ZIP code. Nearby collectors (flippers, scrappers, people with a truck, small haulers) offer to take it for free or quote a price to remove it. The owner chooses, or chooses nobody. Posting is free; free pickups stay free. Fjerne does not haul anything itself and is not a junk removal company. During the pilot a person, not an algorithm, forwards each post to collectors in range. Exact street addresses are never published; only a ZIP code and general area are shared until the owner picks a collector. Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, tires, batteries, propane, medical waste) cannot be posted. For paid removal, owners are told to ask the collector about liability insurance. Fjerne is operated by Made4Uo, a small independent developer.
