Questions and answers

About the service, the evidence, filing, pricing, the watchlist and your data.

Service

Do you take the copy down for me?

No. We find it, document it and prepare the reports; you send them. Takedowns are decided by the platforms, hosts and registrars, and they act on reports from the owner of the content, which is you.

Which stores do you check?

Any online store. Shopify stores get the most thorough comparison, because their product catalogue and store identity can be checked directly.

How do you find copies?

Five ways: a small beacon in your theme that a copy carries along and that reports the copy's address when it goes live; up to 500 lookalike domains (typos, other endings like .shop, and words like -outlet); new security certificates that use your name; public scans that loaded your logo or icon files; and ads in the public ad libraries that point to other sites. You can also send us a link a customer forwarded to you.

What if the "copy" is my own other domain or a reseller?

We check for that. A domain your store lists as its own, or one connected to the same Shopify store, is treated as yours, not as a copy. A reseller produces many of the same signals as a clone, so a site needs a strong signal (your tracking IDs, your product handles, a page that still names your address) before we call it a likely copy, and we tell you when something might be a reseller before you report it.

How often do you check?

Monitored stores are scanned every day, and you get an alert when a new copy goes live. Stores that asked for a free check are checked again about once a week, so a copy that appears later is found too.

Evidence and filing

What evidence do I get?

For each copy: screenshots of both sites side by side, what was copied (text, product handles, image files, tracking IDs), the saved page with a timestamp and a fingerprint, the domain's registration next to yours, and any ads we found sending people to it.

Who can take a copy down?

Usually several parties: the store platform it runs on, the company hosting it, the domain registrar, the payment provider taking its money, and each ad platform running its ads (Facebook and Instagram take separate reports). We work out which apply to each copy and the order to file them in.

Why do I file the reports myself?

Because you own the store and the rights to its content, and the report forms ask the owner to sign that the report is accurate. Filing in your own name also keeps us out of acting as your agent. Most report forms pass the filer's contact details on to the site's operator, so you see every report before it goes.

Are you a law firm?

No. We do not give legal advice. We find, document and prepare; decisions about what to file, and anything that needs a lawyer, stay with you.

Pricing

What does the free check include?

A full scan of your store, the first copy we find in full (screenshots and what was copied), and a count of any other copies we found.

What does monitoring cost?

$49.99 a month per store, paid monthly through Stripe, takedowns included: daily scans, a person checking every copy found, the evidence pack for each (who runs it, screenshots, what it took), the reports for every place to file, and the Fjerne extension that puts them into the forms for you to sign and submit. Nothing is charged per copy. Cancel any time from your account; monitoring runs to the end of the month you paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Months already paid are not refunded, and a prepared report is yours as soon as you have it. If we charged you by mistake, we refund it. The details are on our refund policy page.

Do I need a card for the free check?

No. You provide your store's domain and an email address for the report, nothing else.

Shoppers and the watchlist

What is the watchlist?

A public list of sites we found copying a real store and checked by hand, so shoppers can check a store before they buy. Each entry lists only what we measured, says "authorization unverified", and says how to ask for a correction.

A site I own is on the watchlist. What do I do?

Email us with the details and anything that shows the store authorized you. We review every request and correct or remove the listing when it is wrong.

Your data

What do you do with my email?

We send your report to it and follow up about it. We do not sell it or add it to a mailing list. Ask us and we delete it.
