Fjerne Shield for Chrome

A browser extension for shoppers. It warns you on known copies of online stores and stops fake checkout pages before you type your card number.

What it does

Four ways Shield looks out for you

Shield works in your browser, on the stores you visit, and asks Fjerne only about the domain of a store or a checkout page.

Checkout guard

When you leave a store for a page that asks for your card number, and that page is neither the store nor a payment provider Shield knows, Shield covers it before you type: "This may not be the store's checkout." You can go back, report the page, or trust it.

Known copies

On a site Fjerne has checked by hand and listed on the watchlist as a copy, a banner names the original store and links to it.

What can be seen about a site

For any other store, Shield's menu shows the facts: its platform, how new its domain is, its hosting, its contact address and the name it uses, with anything that stands out.

Report a site

Report this site sends the store's address and your note to Fjerne. A fake checkout you report from a store we monitor is passed to that store's owner straight away.

Why fake checkouts

The checkout can be fake on a real store

In October 2026, code injected through compromised Shopify apps sent shoppers who clicked Checkout to a lookalike payment page, then on to the real checkout. The store was real; the page taking the card was not.

A fake checkout is always on a site you have never seen, so Shield needs to read the pages you visit to catch one. It asks for that access after you install it, and says why, on its welcome page.

What Shield leaves alone

  • What you type, card numbers and passwords included
  • Your messages and account details
  • Pages that are not stores or checkouts: nothing about them is sent
  • Who you are: reports are anonymous

What it keeps stays in your browser, and removing Shield removes it. Shield's privacy policy

Getting started

Install it in a minute

  1. Add Shield to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store. It installs with no access to websites.
  2. Press Turn on protection on the welcome page that opens, and allow access when Chrome asks.
  3. Shop as usual. Shield stays quiet until a page needs a second look. Click its icon on any store to see what can be seen about it.

Shield is a warning, not a guarantee: a site it says nothing about is not proven safe. Fjerne works for store owners; if you run a store that was copied, get a free check.
